We had the pleasure of sitting down with one of the Master Injectors herself, Amy Lynn RN, CANS to explore her journey in the aesthetics industry, her holistic approach to patient care, and the emerging trends that are shaping the future of injectables.

Career Transition from ER Trauma Nurse to Aesthetics Expert

Amy Lynn began her medical career as an ER trauma nurse, where she developed crucial skills in patient care and quick decision-making. These skills laid the groundwork for her transition into the aesthetics industry, where she could combine her medical expertise with her passion for skincare and beauty.

Establishing Glo Derma and Glo Academy

In 2016, Amy Lynn  founded Glo Derma, a full-service aesthetics and wellness clinic. Recognizing the need for advanced education in the field, she later established Glo Academy, which provides comprehensive training for medical professionals in aesthetic injectables, emphasizing safety and patient-centered care. At Glo Academy, Amy Lynn personally provides hands-on training and mentorship, helping emerging professionals build confidence and competence in advanced injectable techniques. In October, 2022, Glo Derma became an exclusive site for Drexel University’s Co-Op Program for Health Science students.  Additionally, Glo Academy is recognized as a dedicated Center of Excellence and hosts Regional Training sessions for companies such as Galderma and MTF Biologics. Her dedication to education ensures that practitioners are well-equipped to deliver safe and effective treatments. 

Innovative Techniques and Recognized Achievements

Amy Lynn’s innovative approaches have earned her a place among the Top 100 Injectors in the US. As a National GAIN Trainer and Galderma Mentor, she has developed techniques like The Sprinkle® and The Art of Reversal®, which focus on achieving natural results and improving patient outcomes.

Comprehensive Skin Health Protocols

At Glo Derma, Amy Lynn champions a holistic approach to skin health, incorporating treatments such as microneedling, PRP, and regenerative products. She emphasizes personalized care plans and the importance of pre and post-treatment routines to ensure optimal results.

Amy Lynn’s meticulous skin preparation protocols start with a thorough cleansing routine. Each patient is instructed to wash their face to remove makeup and environmental pollutants. Upon entering the treatment room, a secondary wipe is performed using hypochlorous acid to further cleanse the skin. Following this double cleanse she preps the skin for a third time with hypochlorous acid ensuring the skin is fully purified and ready for the treatment. 

As she injects she uses either a soaked Q-tip or gauze to lock injection sites to ensure optimal skin health. Amy Lynn emphasizes the importance of a clean and sterile environment, wiping the skin down again post-procedure, and applying a post-procedural cream containing Arnica and CBD for healing. This detailed protocol ensures the skin is optimally prepared and maintained, reducing the risk of infection and enhancing treatment outcomes.

Amy Lynn is excited about the growing interest in regenerative treatments and the emphasis on comprehensive skin health. She is particularly passionate about the use of products like Sculptra, Hyperdiluted Radiesse®, and newer innovations like Renuva.
